About

Named for the grass that holds this ground together.

Bluestem crew spreading mulch in a landscape bed

Big bluestem was the backbone of the tallgrass prairie that once covered eastern Kansas — deep-rooted, dependable, and built for the weather here. That's the standard we set for the properties we take on.

We work out of Overland Park and stay close to home on purpose. A tight service area means predictable schedules, quick turnarounds on cleanup work, and a crew that knows your property instead of reading it off a route sheet.

Whether it's a weekly mow, a fall cleanup, or clearing years of brush off a back fence line, the job gets finished properly and the site gets left clean.

The people who show up.

Alex Allee, owner of Bluestem Land Management, outdoors by a lake

Alex Allee

Owner

Alex grew up farming and went on to work in commercial erosion control before starting Bluestem. He holds a degree in biology from the University of Kansas, and that background shapes how every property gets handled — soil, drainage and plant health first, then the finish work. He walks every job before it's quoted.

Andrew Gregorsok

Land Manager

Andrew holds a degree in conservation and brings that background to everyday property care. He plans plantings around what actually survives a Kansas summer and handles the brush and overgrowth work that most crews turn down.

Colton Smith

Crew Lead

Colton runs the day-to-day crew and keeps the mowing routes on schedule. He came up doing hardscape and bed installs, so he's the one cutting the spade edges and setting stone — and the reason drives get blown clean before anyone leaves.
